Wild roses growing off hybrid tea root? Expert rose growers: I think some of the hybrid tea roses I bought last year were grafted onto wild root stock. All of a sudden i see pretty deep purple, but wild looking, roses growing off two hybrid tea roses I bought. Is this something to worry about? I actually don't mind the look but it is weird.

Tips on growing roses? This is my first time growing roses. I purchased the Veteran's Honor rose hybrid. It had several blooms yesterday, that have dropped already. I purchased it in a one gallon container at the Houston Garden Center. I did plant it in the ground yesterday as soon as I brought it home, in a sunny location. Also, I am located near Galveston, Texas. We don't have much of a winter here. We usually get only a slight frost, our temperature rarely gets below 40 degrees. I did loosen the roots before planting. Oh, I'm in zone 9.

Why are my roses growing bad after I put fertilizer? I had recently planted 2 rose shrubs in pots. I had 3 beautiful roses. After about 2-3 weeks of planting, I applied 'Rose Thrive' (fertilizer) and now there is a 'white powder' like on the stems; the rose have turned a shade of green with pink spots, and leaves have yellow edges? when do roses start growing leaves? i live in zone 6 .I bought about 10 bare root roses in March. Some are growing leaves and look great, others have no growth at all. about roses growing too tall and not out? My well established roses are growing tall up about 8-9' instaed of outward. The stalks are too long with all the activity moving upward leaving the stalks tall and bare. They still are producing beautiful roses. These also are different species of roses and were here at the house I bought 2 years ago and probably been here many years. Cut flowers (roses) growing new leaves from the stem...? What do I do!? My boyfriend bought me these beautiful pink roses and I cut them and put them in a vase with the food and water. I had a dream in which thorny roses were growing out of the palm of my hand? In my dream I was talking on the phone to someone (on speaker phone) and my left palm started itching. I looked at it and saw bumps, like pimples. I squeezed them and green shoots came out. They quickly grew into miniature roses, complete with thorns. Some were pink, some red. When they were long enough, I plucked them out. It didn't hurt though.
