Rose gardening advice? I received a catalog in the mail yesterday and really am thinking of trying my hand by planting at least one rose bush next season and was wondering if there was any advice for a person just learning about roses and how to care for them? How to prepare the dirt and when to give rose food and how often? The one that I was looking at to buy is called a Hybrid Tea and has a coral-pink tone to its petals and grows to 5 feet tall and prefers full sun, which I have a lot of. I live in Zone 5.

a definite best answer award! Rose Gardening Question? I am choosing a definite best answer. I need all the info you can find about hydroponic rose gardening including nutrient needs and best/most efficient gardening set up. Would also like info on average yield of roses for both vine and bush type roses. I actually need advice on growing roses not pot so dont bother posting links to pot grow sites. no offense just that i need the requirements for roses only if anyone that has been growing pot for a while and know good sites about roses or plants in general feel free to share Thanx!
Gardening question - help with iceberg rose please? Hi, I bought a white iceberg rose about 4 months ago and it was going great. About a month ago the leaves and flowers turned yellow and fell off, now it is just sticks. The sticks are green so it is alive, but other people in our street have roses that are flowering now (I live in Western Australia, it is the start of winter here). Does anyone have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? I water the rose once every two days and it gets sunlight during the day. Thank you!
What is this stuff growing on the mulch of my rose garden? There is a substance growing on top of the mulch in my rose garden. It first looks like light mustard or, sorry to be gross, light yellow spots of vomit. they range in size from 6 inch diameter to 12+ inch diameter. At first we thought that an animal may have been sick but the spots keep popping up. They start out looking like a dried liquid and the next day they expand and look like a puffy light yellow foam about half an inch tall. The sun will beat down on them for a day and they dry up and deflate. The whole process only takes a few days. The garden is in full sun in zone 6. Any ideas will be appreciated! Thanks a bunch!!! :)
Can you visit the rose gardens in Portland in the winter? My brother's getting married in Portland this December and I want to know if it'll be worth trying to visit the rose gardens while we're out there. The website says they're open daily, but will there be anything to see? Or should I just tell him to get married next spring?
What would an October wedding at the Loose Park Rose Garden in Kansas City look like? I'm getting married next year on October 10th, and saw that the rose garden @ Loose Park is available for wedding ceremonies until October. I feel silly for asking because I've lived in Kansas City my whole life, but I've never really spent much time near the Plaza to see what Loose Park looks like in early October - are there still flowers around? Is the fountain still going?
The book I never promised you a rose garden? For my independent novel in my english class I chose the book I never promised you a rose garden. I need to do a scrapbook project for it showing how the character changes throughout the story through pictures and typed words. How would I do this and what pictures/should I use? Any help is greatly appreciated. Ten points to the best answer!
I'm new to roses and gardening in general....Any tips for pruning? I live in an apartment, so I am limited to patio gardening. I have minature roses in an 8 inch pot, and a 'Victory' rose (med. sized, also in 8 inch pot) both in Miracle Grow potting soil, in full sun watered daily or as needed. The mini's are doing great, I've had them for weeks now and they look even better than they did when I bought them, no questions there. The med sized, 'Victory' roses, I have only had for a few days now, they were budding when i bought them and now fully bloomed for the most part. I live in southern california, so frost pruning is not necessary (during the colder months I intend to leave them outside during the day for full sun, and bring them inside at night) My questions are, when should I prune? And how exactly should it be done? Also any other tips you think I might need to know. (Please understand that I am new to gardening in general so if you could explain in detailed lay-man's terms it would be greatly appreciated.) Thanks
Where Were The Conservative Concern Mongers When Bush Kissed Abdullah In The White House Rose Garden? And then Bush strolled through the rose garden with him, man hand in man hand. Is there ONE conservative or republican who is willing to admit that Bush's display of affection was much worse than a simple bow and hand shake? Is there ONE with that much integrity? Anarchris wrote: If it was not a gesture of subordination, why did the Saudi King fail to respond with a similar bow? That's an easy one to answer. He's too fat to bow.

Where is the Rose Garden located in the Magic Kingdom? My daughter wants to see the princesses this time, we couldn't find them last time. I heard they were in the Rose Garden. Where is that located? How do you know where the other characters will be as well? Thank you in advance
my raspberries are taking over my rose garden; how do i remove them? they are everywhere? What was supposed to be a rose bush turned out to be a raspberry bush; very prolific! While I really enjoyed the fruit this year, and the plant is very healthy and the fruit was wonderful, it is spreading everywhere in my garden, and soon you won't be able to see anything else! How can I effectively remove the "suckers" and manage it so it doesn't take over without killing my lillies, roses, etc.? Thank you!
Why Was Bush Kissing An Arab In The White House Rose Garden? He was holding his hand too? Does that make some of you manly right wing men uncomfortable, or would you (had you been there) reached up and planted one of the Arab's cheek too? I think they should have considered getting a room, the White House Rose Garden should not be used for flirting. Hey Booman: If it was Obama kissing of an Arab in a white robe in the Rose Garden, can you honestly say you would be giving him the same pass? I don't think so.
Anyone with gardening skills, help with rose? I have a freshly cut rose from my grandfather's funeral today and I would like to grow more roses from it. Can someone please explain how to do this? I have read that you can cut part of the stem off and put it in soil and it will take root, and I have also read that there is a seed part inside the flower. Help please!

I found black spot of the bottom leaves of a new David Austin rose I planted in the Spring. I need some advice I hate to use chemicals on my lawn, I keep things very organic. I'll tell you what I've done so far and if you could please give me additional advice I would be most greatful!!! I trimmed off any spotted leaves from the stem of the plant. I've checked the stem for any sign of disease and there does not appear to be any. I've cleaned the soil of any fallen leaves. This plant is new, planted rootstock this Spring. The area I planted in had never had roses before. This was the first addition to a rose garden I was just beginning, starting with a rose named Mary Rose which happens to be my recently deceased mom so I really want to keep the plant. PLEASE give me your best advice. No, I'm not watering too much. If I'm guilty of anything it would be watering too little. The summer has been extremely dry and I know I should water them more. Could that be the problem???
